  • *Stark and Lannister players have a choice of two ‘starter sets’, their own faction starter boxes, or the older 2-Player set. These had slightly different unit compositions, with the older set including Mountains Men and Outriders, and the newer including Brigands and Karstark Spearmen instead, respectively. Stark/Lannister players can use either configuration, but not both. Nor can they, for example, use Mountains Men in one list and Brigands in another - they must commit to one.

  • **Baratheon players are limited by their faction’s Loyalty mechanic, meaning that even though they get Renly and Stannis in the box, they can’t use both of them, giving them a slight disadvantage compared to the other starter sets in terms of infantry attachments. To remedy this, Baratheon players may include ‘Brienne the Blue’ and ‘Andrew Estermont’ as Infantry attachments (they cannot use Andrew as their commander) in Renly and Stannis lists respectively.

  • ***Targaryen Cavalry attachments are the same models as the Dothraki Veterans, meaning that including the unit means you can’t take any attachments. To remedy this, Targaryen players may take a second box of Veterans, so long as they only use 1 for the Veteran unit, and 1 purely as ‘Ko’ attachments.
