The Rite

One day.
Bring your offerings.

Convergence is a one day open format miniature painting competition run by Cryptic Cabin. Paint whatever you like, set it before the judges, and see how it measures up. Whether it is your first competition or your hundredth, there is a place for you on the table.

Open to all skill levels. Blind judging. No factions, no favourites. Just the brush and what you have done with it.

Categories

Choose your offerings.

I
Painting
The classic discipline. A single model under 54mm scale, judged on brushwork, blending and the fine detail that only shows up close.
II
54mm+ & Bust
Bigger canvas, nowhere to hide. Large scale figures and busts where every transition and texture is on full display.
III
Diorama
More than a model. A scene that tells a story through composition, setting and a moment frozen in time.
IV
Vehicle
Standalone vehicles, mechs and anything piloted. Panels, weathering and hard edges put to the test.
V
Army
The long game. Roughly 500 to 3000pts that fits a 1ft x 2ft footprint, judged as one cohesive, fully realised force.
Judged by the Best
Your work goes before judges with multiple Golden Demon and competition wins between them. Honest eyes, hard-earned standards.

The Judging

Three levels. One open format.

Enter at the level that suits you. Every category is judged across three tiers, so newcomers are measured against newcomers and the masters fight it out among themselves.

Level I
Beginner
Level II
Standard
Level III
Master

What Sets Us Apart

Feedback that lasts.

Most competitions end when the doors close. Convergence does not. In every category you enter, the model we judge to be your strongest is photographed and given written feedback online, so you walk away with more than a placing.

You can also nominate one piece for extra feedback. If it is a new model you have not shown before, we will photograph it and critique it online alongside the rest.

The Market

Friends of the Cabin.

Convergence is not all brushes and judging. We are bringing in a hand-picked line-up of traders and friends of the Cabin, with awesome models, hobby gear, and plenty more to spend your coin on.

Vendor announcements coming soon.

The Judges

Faced by the best.

The painters and competition winners deciding who walks away with Best in Show. Posters and the full line-up announced soon.
