Horus Heresy Event - Forge your own Narrative 2.5k points - Saturday 28th September

Forge your own Narrative is a new style Heresy event for us here at Cryptic Cabin and is designed around creating your own story lines for your characters.

1. Ruleset: Warhammer Horus Heresy Edition

2. Event Date: Saturday 28th September 2024

3. Location: Cryptic Cabin, Moss End Garden Village, Warfield, RG

4. Number of Rounds: 3

5. Roster: 2500 Points for Space Marine, and Mechanicum , for pure (no allies) Solar Auxillia, Militia or Cult players your points limit is 2750

6. There are no Daemons or Custodes allowed in this event due to roster construction

• Event schedule:
  • Doors Open: 9:00am
  • Mission Briefing and Event Introduction: 9:30. Players must arrive by this point.
  • Round 1: 9:30am-12:00pm: 
  • Lunch: 12:00pm-12:30pm
  • Round 2  :12:30pm - 3:00pm: 
  • Break: 3:00pm-3:15pm
  • Round 3: 3:15pm - 5:45 pm
  • Close at 6pm

Mission Pack

Lore 

In the long war of the Heresy, forces on both sides strive to gain the data intelligence advantage to turn the war. As a result of this commanding officers have looked out towards the Halo Stars system. Though far from Terra the scattered moons and asteroid fields within this uncharted territory offer the opportunity to search for lost Imperial technology.

However due the asteroid fields and unsteady warp patterns the main fleet of the Warmaster and Emperor forces are not able to assign the main fleet on this mission. Therefore small strike forces of new heroes have been formed on both sides of elite chosen warriors in a search party mission to gather key data to turn the war.

Throughout the day you will play 3 missions telling the story of firstly controlling this system, then gathering key data information points. Then lastly a tactical withdrawal of the assigned key asset to turn the war in the favour of your forces of either the Emperor or the Warmaster.

Leaders of your Strike force

Every army must include a unit with the retinue keyword or an elite choice. This is your command squad or equivalent in your army list. This unit will get rule buffs over the course of the event. They are models that will tell the story and have been assigned the mission by their higher officers to perform the actions that will turn the war.

This unit must have the infantry or cavalry unit type and may not be a monstrous creature, tank or an artillery unit. In building your lists think about who would be assigned the key tasks on battlefield and perform the heroic actions.

Across your games your squad will gain a bonus for each  games. This bonus is only valid for one game and you roll at the start of each game. The table for this is provided below.

 If you won your previous game you can add 1 to your roll and if you lost your previous game you have to minus 1 to your roll to minimum of 1

Table will be provided with the mission pack 

 Some missions will require you to have line unit to score so consider this in your list building.

List restrictions

• No named characters allowed
• You must include an elite choice or retinue unit this is outlined above - if you are not sure what would be included in this for your army feel free to contact ben@crypticcabin.com
• Maximum of 2 dreadnoughts per list
• Maximum of 2 augary scanners per list
•  Fully painted and based armies is required for this event

• Certificates  
  • Overall Champion - I know my Heresy books well award
  • Favourite Player - I am a friendly nerd but I suck at rolling dice
  • Best Painted - I drink paint water and have read all the lore
  • Best painted Command squad/retunine 

• Equipment Requirement: Attendees are expected to bring all the models they need, dice,  tape measure , 6 objective markers and any relevant publications, such as the rulebook and your army specific book.
